Il nuovo sistema operativo Windows Mobile sarà lanciato ufficialmente l'11 maggio. Era già stao presentato al World Congress di Barcellona ed aveva riscosso molti commenti positivi. Le novità sostanziali che troveremo in questo nuovo OS saranno la maggior velocità e reattività del sistema, una grafica molto più accattivante e un'usabilità maggiore, questa nuova versione punterà al full touch ma soprattutto ad un interfaccia finger friendly, cercando di mettere all'angolo l'uso del pennino.
Molto probabilmente il primo dispositivo che adotterà questa soluzione sarà l'HTC Touch Diamond2, già disponibile all'acquisto.
Su XDA Forum sono comparse le prime ROM cucinate basate su questa release di Windows Mobile, ROM soprattutto per HTC Touch HD.
